KIMONOS

Well, I think I shall start occasionally sharing some music. Got any genres you prefer? Tell me! For now it's all indie and vocaloid, lol. So to start off I'll share music from a relatively new band; KIMONOS. You may know some of the members from older bands, but this band formed this year and has released one single ("Almost Human" - included) and this album; "KIMONOS". "Kimonos is a Japanese indie band formed in 2010 by Leo Imai (LEO 今井) and Shutoku Mukai (向井秀徳) from Zazen Boys.

Their music is a blend of vintage synths, post-punk riffs, heavy beats, and folk lyricism. Both cold and passionate, stoical and decadent, futuristic and nostalgic; their debut album is a fitting soundtrack to the manic intensity of Tokyo City.

Drummer Greg Saunier from Deerhoof and bassist Ichiro Yoshida from Zazen Boys also make ripping guest appearances on the record.
