Daily Manga

I had actually been avoiding this one for years because when I read it in middle school, I wasn't very into it. But I figured I had to give it another chance & started rereading it a few months back. That was one of the best choices I've ever made, lol. It's ana amazing story. Long, very entertaining, & extremely well written/illustrated. It's comical yet serious with great art. The name fits it perfectly. So, if you've yet to read this one; I definately recommend it. It's probably in my top 10.

「風光る」
Kaze Hikaru

Mangaka: 渡辺多恵子 (Watanabe Taeko)
Genre: Action, Gender Bender, Historical, Romance, Shoujo
Summary: "In the year 1863, a time fraught with violent social upheaval, samurai of all walks of life flock to Kyoto in the hope of joining the Mibu-Roshi--a band of warriors united around their undying loyalty to the Shogunate system. In time, this group would become one of the greatest (and most famous) movements in Japanese history... the Shinsengumi!

In 2003 Kaze Hikaru won the Shogakukan Manga Award for shoujo." - Baka-Updates

Daily Manga

So far this one looks pretty promising. It's a tale of the Gauls (the inhabitants of an old region, Gaul, the encomposed much of western Europe) resisting the control/take-over of the Romans. When the Gauls had given in, one man, Agrippa, arrives and sturs up revolt. And so the story begins. Good art and entertaining thus far.

「アグリッパ」
Agrippa

Mangaka: 内水融 (Uchimizu Tooru)
Genre: Action, Adventure, Historical, Shounen
Summary: "In 52 B.C., the Chieftain of the Arveni tribe, Vercingetorix, united the Gauls in a major revolt against the power of the Romans. This is his story, beginning with his rise to power. In one of the tribes, he rescues the 11-year-old Taranis, the only son of a Gallic hero who was executed by the Romans. Taranis follows Vercingetorix as he raises his army to fight for the freedom of Gaul." - Baka-Updates

Daily Manga

Today's manga is one I just stumbled across but find to be very interesting and promising. Maybe it's because I grew up in a town full of this shit but I somewhat felt at ease reading it, lol. Well, anyways, the theme is pretty much crime, gangsters, prostitution, and from what I can tell; an abusive, possibly mafia, family. Great art and a good story. A bit graphic; definitely "Mature". I hope you enjoy it as well.

「ギャングスタ」
Gangsta.

Mangaka: Kosuke
Genre: Action, Mature, Romance, Seinen
Summary: "You wanna get rid of someone? Nicolas and Warrick your two neighborly gangsters also known as “Benriya” are for hire!" - Baka-Updates

Daily Manga

Today's manga is one I had long been hoping to see scanned. When it was finally, recently, picked up, I was pleasantly surprised to see the group scanning it was Kotonoha. /Love explosion. This story is truly awesome. I just can't help loving a purely evil genius male lead. This story will, at some points, make you want to cry, and at others, make you want to laugh sadistically. The pure win of it. Complimented by the clean art style. This, to me, could not be more perfect. I can only hope you will enjoy it just as much.

「狼の口: ヴォルフスムント」
Wolfsmund

Mangaka: 久慈光久 (Kuji Mitsuhisa)
Genre: Action, Drama, Historical, Mature, Seinen, Tragedy
Summary: "Wolfsmund is a dark historical manga set in the early 14th century of Europe (Switzerland). The story revolves around the eponymous fortress in the St. Gotthard Pass which is ruled by a sadistic tyrant. Basically, each chapter deals with characters who for some reason have to cross the pass and who end up getting interrogated by the mentioned tyrant.

What sets this manga apart is the fact that there's rarely a happy ending for our protagonists. The author pulls no punches to show us just how brutal and inhuman the Middle Ages really were." - Baka-Updates

Daily Manga

Today's manga is a rather amazing work by a very promising new-comer (they even won an award for being so) & it happens to fall under an amazing amount of genres, lol. The art is, well, a bit questionable at time proportionally, but then again it /is/ a shounen manga and when it really counts it's very good. Well! I hope you like this. (& if you do; please keep an eye out for their future works!)

「進撃の巨人」
Shingeki no Kyojin

Mangaka: 諌山創 (Isayama Hajime)
Genre: Action, Drama, Fantasy, Historical, Horror, Mature, Mystery, Psychological, Shounen, Supernatural, Tragedy
Summary: "Several hundred years ago, humans were nearly exterminated by giants. Giants are typically several stories tall, seem to have no intelligence, devour human beings and, worst of all, seem to do it for the pleasure rather than as a food source. A small percentage of humanity survived by walling themselves in a city protected by extremely high walls, even taller than the biggest of giants.

Flash forward to the present and the city has not seen a giant in over 100 years. Teenage boy Elen and his foster sister Mikasa witness something horrific as the city walls are destroyed by a super giant that appears out of thin air. As the smaller giants flood the city, the two kids watch in horror as their mother is eaten alive. Elen vows that he will murder every single giant and take revenge for all of mankind.

Nominated for the 4th Manga Taisho Awards (2011)." - Baka-Updates

Daily Manga

Today's manga is one I've been rather enamored with. I really love the art style; especially the colorings. The way they draw kimonos is amazing. Aside from that, the story itself is pretty fun, frustrating, and easy to get into. But I have to say; I can't help hating Suguro, Konekomaru, and Moriyama. They are probably the biggest bitches I have ever seen in a shounen manga, lol. But back to the main point. It's a great story; really worth a read. & The oneshot it spun off from is insanely different (just to warn if you read that first.)

「青の祓魔師」
Ao no Exorcist

Mangaka: 加藤 和恵 (Katou Kazue)
Genre: Action, Adventure, Fantasy, Shounen, Supernatural
Summary: "This world consists of two dimensions joined as one, like a mirror. The first is the world in which the humans live, Assiah. The other is the world of demons, Gehenna. Ordinarily, travel between the two, and indeed any kind of contact between the two, is impossible.
However the demons can pass over into this world by possessing anything that exist within it.
Satan is the god of demons; but there's one thing that he doesn't have, and that's a substance in the human world that is powerful enough to contain him!!
For that purpose he created Rin, his son from a human woman, but will his son agree to his plans? Or will he become something else...? An exorcist?" - Baka-Updates

Daily Manga

Well, I've been watching Saraiya Goyou all day. I'd watched the first episode when it was released, but never got around to finishing it. I'd also been looking around for the raws of the later volumes. I have the first two from the last time I went to Kinokuniya (but sadly I've had no time to go recently). After just looking it up on bakaupdates, I am sad to say that it is licensed by the evil Viz. I truly hate how they butcher manga. But if you don't mind their terrible translations and/or spending money or renting it from a library, etc then I really recommend this beautiful series. Basso (Ono Natsume-sensei) is always amazing, and it shows even more so in this great work. I hope you get the chance to read it and that when you do, you will enjoy it too. The anime is also great, so if you are unable to get the manga or simply wish to watch it, I recommend that as well.

「さらい屋五葉」
Saraiya Goyou

Mangaka: オノ・ナツメ (Ono Natsume)
Genre: Action, Historical, Seinen, Slice of Life
Summary: "Masterless samurai Akitsu Masanosuke is a skilled and loyal swordsman, but his naïve, diffident nature has time and again caused him to be let go by the lords who have employed him. Hungry and desperate, he becomes a bodyguard for Yaichi, the charismatic leader of a gang called "Five Leaves." Although disturbed by the gang's sinister activities, Masa begins to suspect that Yaichi's motivations are not what they seem. And despite his misgivings, the deeper he's drawn into the world of the Five Leaves, the more he finds himself fascinated by these devious, mysterious outlaws." - Baka-Updates

Daily BL

Today's BL is more of a crazy obsessive shounen ai (sense it's by the great Tezuka Osamu-sensei). That being said, the art isn't the best, but the story makes up for it. I've also heard of there being a drama or movie based off of this. I still need to check it out, but it seems to be pretty good. It has a large fandom and all, lol. Well! Enjoy!

「ムウ」
MW

Mangaka: 手塚 治虫 (Tezuka Osamu)
Genre: Action, Drama, Mature, Psychological, Seinen, Shounen Ai, Tragedy
Summary: "Gurai is a Japanese Catholic Priest, who is unable to give up his lifelong sexual relationship with Yuki, a beautiful and sadistic young master criminal. Yuki's malicious crimes have become more and more extreme over the years, claiming many innocent lives, and Gurai is tormented by guilt at his inability to stop them." - Baka-Updates

Daily BL

For today's BL I'll be sharing a military type. I've been getting back into the military mangas lately, lol. Maybe I'm just in the mood to admire the weaponry. At any rate. This manga being by Tsurugi Kai-sensei, the art is pretty great. I couldn't ask for better. As for the story, it's a bit of a pity that it is only one volume. It could have been rather epic if it were a bit longer. But that can't be helped! So! I hope you enjoy it as is, lol. Have fun reading.

「My Life With You」

Mangaka: 剣解 (Tsurugi Kai)
Genre: Action, Drama, Romance, Yaoi
Summary: "Scientist Eric Stuart has been kidnapped! To rescue him, Steve McDaniel, an elite soldier, must infiltrate the enemy's fortress, find the kidnapped scientist, and bring him home.

“I’ll protect you with my life!”

After hearing such a solemn promise, Eric couldn’t help but fall for Steve…" - Baka-Updates

Daily Manga

Today's manga is my 3rd all time favorite. Another long epic, and historical themed seinen manga. The art is pretty unique to the mangaka and pretty enjoyable. Sadly it lost the 1st place in the 10th Osamu Tezuka awards to another of my favorites; Ookiku Furikabutte. I hope it gets some better recognition soon. Well! Hope you like it.

「ヒストリエ」

Today's BL is a oneshot by the amazing Yoneda Kou-sensei! Yakuza themed (as usual, although not a side story of one of the others.) with some great art and a humorous story. Worth a read or two. Enjoy!

Mangaka: ヨネダ コウ (Yoneda Kou)
Genre: Action, Drama, Yaoi

However he gets interested in this transaction and in the mysterious man that is negotiating it. What sort of hidden encounters will bring the nights to these strangers with such intriguing personalities?" - Baka-Updates

Daily Manga

Today I feel like posting my number one, all time favorite manga. It is the most beautiful, entertaining, genius thing I have ever read. The pure insanity of one of the main characters is so incredibly beautiful that you wont be able to resist loving him. Like yesterday's, today's has a "slight" BL overtone. not sure if it's intentional but I love it either way. There's also some amazing fanart of the insane man that I'll post later. But sadly the actual manga art of him isn't as beautiful (however it's perfect for the story so it's all good). Well! Really hope you love it. Enjoy~

「モンスター」
Monster

Mangaka: 浦沢 直樹 (Urusawa Naoki)
Genre: Action, Drama, Historical, Mature, Mystery, Psychological, Seinen
Summary: "Monster weaves the riveting story of brilliant Dr. Kenzo Tenma, a famous surgeon with a promising career at a leading hospital. Tenma risks his reputation and promising career to save the life of a critically wounded young boy. Unbeknownst to him, this child is destined for a terrible fate. A string of strange and mysterious murders begin to occur soon afterward, ones that professionally benefit Dr. Tenma, and he emerges as the primary suspect. Conspiracies, serial murders, and a scathing depiction of the underbelly of hospital politics are all masterfully woven together in this compelling manga thriller.

The series won an Excellence Prize at the 1997 Japan Media Arts Festival and the Shogakukan Manga Award in 2001."-Baka-Updates

Daily Manga

After posting the classic BL download last night, I got onto the subject of classic manga in TM (as most of you probably saw) & was asked for recommendations. I got out a shoujo & BL but couldn't think of a translated shounen/seinen series (aside from Osamu Tezuka's works). So! Today! I remembered one of my favorites! It was one of the animes I watched a lot as a kid. This and Scooby Doo were my two favorite shows. So what is this crazy awesome classic? It's Lupin III! One of the all time most epic animes around (in my opinion)! I used to hate reading though, so it took awhile before I got into the manga (lol). But, when I did, I remember getting the manga at the library and reading it behind my textbooks in class~ xD Anyways! I hope you'll enjoy it as much as I do~

「ルパン三世」
Lupin III

Mangaka: モンキー・パンチ (Monkey Punch)
Genre: Action, Adventure, Comedy, Seinen
Summary: "This is the first time Monkey Punch's original, classic series has been published in the U.S. International man of mystery and master thief extraordinaire, Lupin III comes from a long line of high stakes bandits, all committed to stealing from the rich and giving to themselves. Fortunately, Lupin tends to avoid robbing society's virtuous and, instead, targets some pretty shady characters.

Of course, he partners with some pretty shady characters as well: Daisuke Jigen is an ex-mafia hit man who carries himself with a somber demeanor, his trademark black fedora tilted forward to hide his eyes. Goemon Ishikawa is a cipher-like swordsman with samurai-ish overtones who mysteriously fades in and out of Lupin's exploits. Fujiko Mine is the object of Lupin's affections, but, since she is a thief herself, the duo's romance more than occasionally clashes with their competition for big scores.

The global police force, Interpol, and in particular the tenacious Inspector Zenigata, long to capture Lupin and his gang. Zenigata's relationship with the eponymous master thief is a complicated one, characterized by mutual respect laced with utter disdain. The two have even worked together when it's served both their interests, but they understand that when the crisis ends, they must resume their former wariness and animosity toward each other." - Baka-Updates

Ahahah~ Sorry for the late post. Finally redownloaded IMVU after seeing so many friends using it. I've been screwing around on there for hours. Add me if you'd like? User name is the same as TM's. Well! Today's manhua is an epic! It's also based on a classic, but, well, a more famous and exciting one, lol. The art is great and the story is insanely long, addictive, and incredible. Could not have been done any better. Hope you enjoy it!

「火鳳燎原」
The Ravages of Time

Manhuaga: 陳某 (Chen Mou)

Historians refer to this period as the Three Kingdoms period. The romance of the three kingdoms is an intriguing tale of heroic deeds, of alliance forged and broken, of loyalty and betrayal...

Hong Kong artist Chan Mou retells this classic tale in "The Ravages of Time" from the perspective of the Sima clan, which in the end united the three kingdoms. Readers will be attracted by an array of well-developed characters and Chan Mou's own unique top-notch art-style. Whether you have played Dynasty Warriors or not, this is definitely worth a read!" - Baka-Updates
