Daily Manga

Because traps/cross-dressers are in lately. (& I have no problem with that.) As much as I’d love to kick off the “genre” with a BL or trap manga, I think I’ll try easing people into it (in hopes of recruiting followers to the interest, hurhur.) So, that being said, this is a great cross-dressing themed shoujo manga. Good art (shoujo style of course) with some interesting characters & some funny situations. (Even the side character related oneshots are good.) If you’d like to read something “relatively/barely” serious that will make you laugh, this is a good one. I think everyone should be able to enjoy it (& I hope you do).

「うそつきリリィ」

Usotsuki Lily

Mangaka: 小村あゆみ (Komura Ayumi)
Genre: Comedy, Gender Bender, Romance, School Life, Shoujo
Summary: “Hinata Saotome is suddenly asked out by En Shinohara, a gorgeous boy in her grade. What she doesn’t know, though, is that his hobby is cross-dressing! En has always hated men, and whenever he sees his own reflection, he punches out whatever is doing the reflecting (windows, mirrors…). To combat this hatred, he dresses up as a girl. Hinata decides to go out with him anyway, despite his weird hobby.” - Baka-Updates

Daily Manga

Today's manga, Heartbroken Chocolatier, by the great Mizushiro Setona-sensei is an interesting one. It's classified shoujo but seems more josei/seinen to me. Who knows/cares. Beautiful art and a great story. All about unrequited love, chocolate, & human relations. Only a few chapters have been scanned thus far, so you might not get that explanation for awhile, but eventually. (I'm trying not give anything away.) It's currently ongoing so I can't say too much, but thus far; I love it. It's put together perfectly. It's so balanced while handling things people usually consider taboo & things people usually over dramatize that I can only call it a masterpiece. No wonder it's been nominated for the 4th manga Taisho awards. At any rate. If you read it, I hope you'll enjoy it.

「失恋ショコラティエ」
Shitsuren Chocolatier

Mangaka: 水城せとな (Mizushiro Setona)
Genre: Comedy, Drama, Romance, Shoujo
Summary: "Souta, who's attending a confectionary school, is in a relationship with Saeko, a girl one year older than him. He fell in love at first sight with her four years ago, and right before Christmas last year, they finally had their first kiss. Because his girlfriend really loves chocolate, every day, Souta tries to polish his chocolate-making skills. Even when his girlfriend smells like cigarettes although she doesn't smoke, even when she turns down his invitation to a date on Valentine's day, he's still not broken-hearted at all, and he still continues to love her...

Nominated for the 4th Manga Taisho Awards (2011)." - Baka-Updates

Daily Manga

I had actually been avoiding this one for years because when I read it in middle school, I wasn't very into it. But I figured I had to give it another chance & started rereading it a few months back. That was one of the best choices I've ever made, lol. It's ana amazing story. Long, very entertaining, & extremely well written/illustrated. It's comical yet serious with great art. The name fits it perfectly. So, if you've yet to read this one; I definately recommend it. It's probably in my top 10.

「風光る」
Kaze Hikaru

Mangaka: 渡辺多恵子 (Watanabe Taeko)

In 2003 Kaze Hikaru won the Shogakukan Manga Award for shoujo." - Baka-Updates

Daily Manga

Well. It seems like in the short while my internet was refusing to work, Blogger has gone a bit crazy. Apparently polls can now attract a ridiculous amount of hits. My Stats are now screwed. But anyways. Getting to the main subject! Today's manga is actually a shoujo (which actually seems more like a seinen to me) manga by none other than Est Em! It's hilarious and amazing; a must read! Great art and a very interesting, creative, Est Emesque story! I hope you like it just as much as I. Enjoy!

Daily Manga

Today's manga is a one I've recently chanced upon (sense I love stalk Kotonoha) and have instantly fallen in love with. This is another that although classified as shoujo would seem more appropriately classified as seinen to me. Aside from that; the art is great and the story is another amazing one. If you are a fan of Miyazaki I am sure you will enjoy this one. Have fun reading.

「ミヨリの森」
Miyori no Mori

I'm 19, I'm a bit screwy but simple, I love cats, the art is amazing, and the story is wonderfully refreshing, lol. Enough with my praising. Enjoy!

Daily Manga

So today I'm recommending some shoujo (and I might recommend some more soon.) It's a bit dark and twisted in a beautifully desperate way. But it turns out to be very sweet. (The crazy in me loved this.) The art is great and the story is very good. It's about four volumes long (I think it's complete?) and really worth a read. Hope you enjoy it.

This is a romance manga spun with emotion."-Baka-Updates

Daily Manga

So today I'll be sharing a shoujo manhwa. It's actually crazy amazing (really). I love the manhwaga's works. They all seem to have a beautiful bit of insanity mixed in & I just happen to be a huge fan of insanity, lol. There is some incest and tragedy, but I love both, lol. The art is also really good. Enjoy!

「악의 꽃」
Flowers of Evil

Daily Manga

Sorry for not posting these past few days. You all know I'm a lazy ass though. But I have been following the dispute between China and Japan for the Senkaku Islands (although we all know it is legally Japan's and China is just being an ass). The rumors of what actually happened in the islands between the two countries is quite stirring. I'm actually excited for something to happen, lol. At any rate! today's manga is, yet again, a recent release. It's one I'm very attracted to though. The art is good but the genre is my favorite; Heian Japan! A sexy, "crazy" ex-prince, and a crazy good, slightly traumatized onmyouji who lost all his powers. Have fun with it!

「暁の闇」

Koretaka Shinnou, once the crown prince renowned for his brilliant mind and steadfast personality, is now in exile - supposedly as punishment for murder. Upon their first meeting, Yorimichi's powers are instantly re-awakened. Intrigued by what he believes to be Koretaka's amazing abilities, Yorimichi decides to swear allegiance to the prince." - Baka-Updates

Daily Manga

Crazy two days. Rain, The Social Network, Kittens, and drama...I need to sleep. But before I do that, I shall post some manga! So today's manga recommendation is actually of one yet to be released. You wont be able to find it unless you live in Japan, order it online, happen to have eMule (& it happens to be there), or you happen to have my genius search engine powers. But if you find the below to sound interesting, just comment here or click "Interesting" in the boxes below and I will upload chapter one for you & post it here. So to get down to business! This manga is based on a classic, "Le vicomte de Valmont: Les liaisons dangeruses". The movie's pretty good and can be watched for free on youtube or downloaded for free online. I recommend seeing it. The adaptation is by Saitou Chiho so it's damn amazing in both art and story. Here's the info:

Daily Manga

Finally getting back into it. Hohon. My sleep schedule was way off. I'll be hitting you with an odd, but interesting, slightly screwed up oneshot today! It's actually manhua, & the art is reminiscent of an early (90's) Kaori Yuki work. The story is pretty good though. Entertaining. Enjoy it.

「Mushroom Boy」

Manhuaga: 韩露 (Han Lu)
Genre: Shoujo, Tragedy
Summary: "Just like mushrooms that grow as a log rots, memories collect as life goes on. Even though you might not remember anything right now, they are still there. And will eventually be remembered." - Baka-Updates

Daily Manga

Today's is a new one. There's only one chapter out so far but it looks damn awesome. It may be shoujo but when reading it I'd have never guessed. It's set in Germany during it's golden age. It's an alternate history about a beautiful male assassin trying to kill the fuhrer. The art great and the story looks very promising. Enjoy.

「Toxic」

Mangaka: 高橋燎央 (Takahashi Ryo)

Daily Manga

Holy hell, my internet is working properly again! (sobs of joy). Anyways~ Today's manga is another shoujo (I'm running out of good stuff it seems). I liked the first story in the volume but~ The others weren't as good in my opinion. The first story is set in the Taisho era w/ a rich & rather miserable Oujo-sama who lost her parents and is being forced to marry some jerk that she hates. There's also a vampire. =B & a rather sad/disappointing ending. xD; The stories following are about ghosts. Great art & rather amusing oneshots. Enjoy.

「SxM」

Mangaka: 高宮 智 (Takamiya Satoru)
Genre: Drama, Romance, Shoujo, Supernatural
Summary: "One day, Kirie, the daughter of a count's family, found a beautiful, blue-eyed man collapsed in the street. What's more, when he woke up, he seemed to have lost his memory. But, with his blue eyes and pale skin, could he be the rumored "blood-sucking demon"?

Also in the volume is story called Haraimasu kedo Nani ka?."-Baka-Updates

Daily BL

Today's is another oneshot. It's a manhwa this time. It has a bit shoujo with a large shounen ai overtone (for it is the main focus). It's got some incest <3 So I couldn't resist sharing it, lol. Good art and a great, melancholic story. I do believe it won a prize in some manhwa magazines contest? Not too sure, but enjoy it anyways! (*Edit: Korean title name corrected. Thanks for telling me kanameyu!)

A*D - Tenshi no Uso

Mangaka: あき (AKI)
Genre: Comedy, Drama, Historical, Shoujo, Slice of Life

Mockingly referred to as a bird of paradise, Force dresses gaudily, spends money like water, and has turned the trip he's been sent on to learn more about the world into his own personal gourmet dining tour. His behavior makes the rest of high society whisper about him behind his back. The only exception is Eiri Lawrence, who finds Force and his entourage intriguing rather than laughable - and who is everything that Force is not. Theirs is the world of high society, where truth and falsehood, and dark and light, intertwine."-Baka-Updates
