Daily BL

Today's BL is one I recently read by Ike Reibun. I'm probably over-thinking it and reading too much into it, but if I'm not; Ike Reibun is a genius. An amazing, beautiful, incredible person. Why? Because from what I can see in this oneshot; She seems to be addressing the recent manga ban, the stupidity & power of the politicians, & the mindless sheep-like personality of the populace. It seems to address so many of the issues in such a terrifying yet hilarious manner that one can not help but be incredibly impressed and can't help loving the story. Even if that is not Ike Reibun's intention; I still loved this story. I hope you do, too. (And yes, the cover below & the story listed are different. The cover reads "Natsu ni Shiniyuku Monogatari" & does not seem to be listed in BU. If you'd like to know more; Google it yourself.)

「Dangerous Symphony」

Mangaka: 池玲文 (Ike Reibun)
Genre: Comedy, Sci-fi, Yaoi
Summary: "Rock and Homero live in a world, where all kinds of laws restrict people and you can get arrested for the simplest things. Naturally, being love with another man is frowned upon." - Baka-Updates

Daily Manga

"The Place Promised in Our Early Days", adapted by the amazing Sahara Mizu-sensei. I've only read chapter one so far, but I can promise I'll be reading it to the very end (& probably be wishing for more when it ends.) Sahara-sensei's incredible art just makes Shinkai-sensei's stories all the better. So, I hope you'll like it as well.

「雲のむこう、約束の場所」
Kumo no Mukou, Yakusoku no Basho

Mangaka: 佐原ミズ (Sahara Mizu)
Author: 新海誠 (Shinkai Makoto)
Genre: Drama, Psychological, Romance, Sci-fi, Seinen
Summary: "In an alternate history of the aftermath of World War II, Japan has been cleaved in half, with the south—Honshu and the other islands—allied with the United States and the northern island Hokkaido annexed by the enigmatic Union. It was on Hokkaido that a mysterious tower had been built, a strand of metal reaching up out of the atmosphere, visible from the northern tip of Honshu. In 1996, three teenagers, Hiroki, Takuya and Sayuri, make a pact—they will build an experimental aircraft, almost invisible to surveillance, cross over to Hokkaido and unlock the secrets of the tower. Their dream was never realized, because Sayuri was sent to Tokyo for treatment after she fell into a coma. It is now three years later. The rosy illusions of youth have fallen away, but not the unbreakable strength of the trio’s promise. The truth of the tower will be uncovered, and with it, the link between it and Sayuri’s mysterious, carefully tended condition." - Baka-Updates

Daily Manga

Eve no Jikan is another great Seinen manga based off of a hit novel. I had started watching the animation a while back but never finished, so I was ecstatic when I saw this being scanned. Good art & a nice feel. And interesting & entertaining story that almost makes one wish for such robots. I always love it when you can make sci-fi a slice of life story as well. Worth a read & watch (the animation has great art.)

「イヴの時間」
Eve no Jikan

Mangaka: 太田 優姫 (Oota Yuuki)
Author: 吉浦 康裕 (Yoshiura Yasuhiro)
Genre: Sci-fi, Seinen, Slice of Life
Summary: "The future, probably Japan. Robots have long been put into practical use, and androids have just come into use.

Influenced by the Robot Ethics Committee, it's become common sense for people to treat androids like household appliances. Their appearance - indistinguishable from humans except for the ring over each android's head - has led some people to empathize unnecessarily with androids. Known as "android-holics", such people have become a social problem.

Rikuo, a high school student, has been taught from childhood that androids are not to be viewed as humans, and has always used them as convenient tools. One day Rikuo discovers some strange data in the behavior records of his family's household android, Sammy.

Rikuo and his friend Masaki trace Sammy's movements, only to discover a mysterious café that features a house rule that "humans and robots are to be treated the same"..." - Baka-Updates

Daily Manga

Today's manga is possibly a bit troubling (being as it's apocalyptic) with the state of unrest many people are currently in, however, I am a bit sadistic so I can't quite help myself. Aside from that the main story and the two others are very good and definitely worth a read. The art is also quite nice. I hope you like it.

「Hotel」

Mangaka: ボイチ (Boichi)
Genre: Drama, Sci-fi, Seinen, Tragedy
Summary: "Compilation of short stories:

• Hotel
It is the year 2272 A.D.
A computer continues to live on in order to complete a mission in a world where all life, including Mankind, has gone extinct. This is a record of those 27 million years of its heroic struggle.

• Diadem
A "Diadem" is a word for 'crown' that has its root in Greek. "Stephanos", which appeared in "Mandala" 01, was also a 'crown'. It seems that we could consider this the second work in a continuing series of shorts that should perhaps be called a "Crown series".

• Present
Hanako suffers from a terrible disease. After awakening from a deep slumber, Hanako has only three days to live. During those three days, her husband, Takao, must endure a heart-breaking experience, knowing that the person Hanako really loves isn't him." - Baka-Updates

Daily Manga

Today's manga is a oneshot. A really great one. Besides having awesome art it also has an amazingly interesting & (for some) eye opening plot that is pretty much unforgettable. It is definitely worth a read. Hope you like it! (& sorry for the late post. I was trying to post it last night but in the middle of it my laptop decided to slow to a snails pace & anger me into exhaustion. But at least I'm able to post it first thing this morning. Enjoy!)

「アップル」
Apple

Mangaka: 古味直志 (Komi Naoshi)
Genre: Comedy, Sci-fi, Shounen, Supernatural
Summary: "The main character (the blond ponytailed guy - yeah, guy) is Aramiya Satoshi, who main ability is shapeshifting into any animal... though at a few points he has plants growing out of him, so my guess is he can shapeshift into any living thing (including an elephant and a lion) I'm not sure if he was naturally born that way or if he was a biological experiment. Anyway, he's a pretty easygoing guy who just wants to be left alone to enjoy his solitary life in the middle of a junkyard, but apparently some army or another is always after him because of his ability, though he is able to fight off entire tank battalions before breakfast." - Baka-Updates

Daily BL

Today I'm only posting a BL manga. It's one that I really liked when I read it awhile back. I only wish it was longer. If they had made it more than one volume, I think it could have been pretty epic. It could have been on par with Silver Diamond and the like (they are both shounen ai and all.) Aside from that, the art is ok (it's from around the middle of Yamakami Riyu's career.) But the story is great, so I hope you enjoy it.

「汝の名は愛」
Nanji no Na wa Ai

Mangaka: やまかみ 梨由 (Yamakami Riyu)
Genre: Adventure, Drama, Sci-fi, Shounen Ai
Summary: "Haruto didn't say goodbye to his best friend Noah when he was shipped off on an investigative mission to another planet. Now, years later, after the earth has been almost destroyed and Haruto is near death in the desert, Noah appears and saves him! But Noah hasn't aged a day, and seems to be acting different......" - The Evil Empire

Daily Manga

Yet again, I am in a technology hating mood. That being the case, this manga really works for me atm. The art is "different" and the story is a bit odd & possibly harder to follow than most, but it's pretty good and has a valid message. Hope you enjoy it.

「Marieの奏でる音楽」
Marie no Kanderu Ongaku

Mangaka: 古屋兎丸 (Furuya Usamaru)
Genre: Drama, Fantasy, Mature, Romance, Sci-fi, Seinen
Summary: "A fantasy epic of truly magnificent scale with gorgeous illustrations. In just two volumes, the author manages to create an incredibly rich and fascinating world that is full of wonders and enchanting beauties. A world in which men are watched over by the mechanical goddess Marie who at times appears on the sky. Marie's music brings people happiness and harmony. Their life is free from advanced technology and the longing for progress. The main story centers around Kai, a young man who develops a deep affection for Marie. His quest for enlightenment leads him inside Marie's mechanical body where he learns the unbelievable truth about her and his own world."-Baka-Updates
