Daily Manga

A short oneshot from Nakamura Asumiko-sensei. It's incredibly beautiful. In every way. & If you've seen "The Man in The Iron Mask" with Leonardo De Caprio; It's quite similar, but better. Full color with Nakamura-sensei's amazing art. Anyways. I loved this one & hope you will too.

Daily BL

A BL manhua adapted from a Chinese novel. (Novel can be found on Sooky's LJ.) Beautiful art and a pretty interesting story. BL manhua has really caught my eye lately, yet most of the ones I come across are crap. So I' glad there are so great BL novelist/manhuaga's like these two, out there. If you'd like to try something new & see some beautiful BL; this is a great choice.

Daily Manga

Well. It seems like in the short while my internet was refusing to work, Blogger has gone a bit crazy. Apparently polls can now attract a ridiculous amount of hits. My Stats are now screwed. But anyways. Getting to the main subject! Today's manga is actually a shoujo (which actually seems more like a seinen to me) manga by none other than Est Em! It's hilarious and amazing; a must read! Great art and a very interesting, creative, Est Emesque story! I hope you like it just as much as I. Enjoy!

「Gallop!」

Mangaka: えすとえむ (Est Em)
Genre: Fantasy, Shoujo, Slice of Life
Summary: "After the passing of the Equal Opportunity Employment Act, everyone has equal rights in the workplace. Unfortunately, there are still many logistical difficulties yet to be overcome. Like, how's a centaur supposed to sit at a desk made for humans, anyway?

A collection of one-shots." - Baka-Updates

Daily Manga

Today's manga is a rather amazing work by a very promising new-comer (they even won an award for being so) & it happens to fall under an amazing amount of genres, lol. The art is, well, a bit questionable at time proportionally, but then again it /is/ a shounen manga and when it really counts it's very good. Well! I hope you like this. (& if you do; please keep an eye out for their future works!)

「進撃の巨人」
Shingeki no Kyojin

Mangaka: 諌山創 (Isayama Hajime)
Genre: Action, Drama, Fantasy, Historical, Horror, Mature, Mystery, Psychological, Shounen, Supernatural, Tragedy
Summary: "Several hundred years ago, humans were nearly exterminated by giants. Giants are typically several stories tall, seem to have no intelligence, devour human beings and, worst of all, seem to do it for the pleasure rather than as a food source. A small percentage of humanity survived by walling themselves in a city protected by extremely high walls, even taller than the biggest of giants.

Flash forward to the present and the city has not seen a giant in over 100 years. Teenage boy Elen and his foster sister Mikasa witness something horrific as the city walls are destroyed by a super giant that appears out of thin air. As the smaller giants flood the city, the two kids watch in horror as their mother is eaten alive. Elen vows that he will murder every single giant and take revenge for all of mankind.

Nominated for the 4th Manga Taisho Awards (2011)." - Baka-Updates

Daily Manga

Today's manga is one I've been rather enamored with. I really love the art style; especially the colorings. The way they draw kimonos is amazing. Aside from that, the story itself is pretty fun, frustrating, and easy to get into. But I have to say; I can't help hating Suguro, Konekomaru, and Moriyama. They are probably the biggest bitches I have ever seen in a shounen manga, lol. But back to the main point. It's a great story; really worth a read. & The oneshot it spun off from is insanely different (just to warn if you read that first.)

「青の祓魔師」
Ao no Exorcist

Mangaka: 加藤 和恵 (Katou Kazue)
Genre: Action, Adventure, Fantasy, Shounen, Supernatural
Summary: "This world consists of two dimensions joined as one, like a mirror. The first is the world in which the humans live, Assiah. The other is the world of demons, Gehenna. Ordinarily, travel between the two, and indeed any kind of contact between the two, is impossible.
However the demons can pass over into this world by possessing anything that exist within it.
Satan is the god of demons; but there's one thing that he doesn't have, and that's a substance in the human world that is powerful enough to contain him!!
For that purpose he created Rin, his son from a human woman, but will his son agree to his plans? Or will he become something else...? An exorcist?" - Baka-Updates

Daily Manga

Today's manga is a one I've recently chanced upon (sense I love stalk Kotonoha) and have instantly fallen in love with. This is another that although classified as shoujo would seem more appropriately classified as seinen to me. Aside from that; the art is great and the story is another amazing one. If you are a fan of Miyazaki I am sure you will enjoy this one. Have fun reading.

「ミヨリの森」
Miyori no Mori

Mangaka: 小田ひで次 (Oda Hideji)
Genre: Adventure, Drama, Fantasy, Shoujo, (Seinen)?
Summary: "A young girl escapes to the forest where she encounters the various spirits of the forest in a journey of the heart." - Baka-Updates

Daily Manga

Today's manga is a great one. It's a "new" series by the great Takayama Shinobu, the mangaka of Amatsuki. This, as that, deals with yokai (in a somewhat different manner). The art is amazing and the main character entertaining. Hope you like it.

「ハイガクラ」
Haigakura

Mangaka: 高山 しのぶ (Takayama Shinobu)
Genre: Adventure, Fantasy, Josei, Supernatural
Summary: "The world that was once supported by four evil Gods, has fallen to a crisis. Using song and dance, it is up to the kashikans to bring back the Gods which fled from their confinement…" - Baka-Updates

Daily Manga

Today's manga is one you most likely already know. I'd not be surprised if you've all read or watched it already. So what is it? It is the amazing, award winning hit manga "Mushishi". Full of amazing art, incredible style, fun and fascinating adventures, one of the most interesting plots out there, and a main character that you can't help but love, this manga has even been turned into a great live action movie. Hope you enjoy.

「虫师」
Mushishi

Mangaka: 漆原 友紀 (Urushibara Yuki)
Genre: Adventure, Drama, Fantasy, Historical, Mystery, Psychological, Seinen, Supernatural, Tragedy
Summary: "They exist in the most unexpected places -- be it within your eyes and ears, under the floor and roof of your house, or the trees and flowers in your garden. They are everywhere and yet nowhere at the same time. Are they alive or not? Perhaps it is more apt to say they are beings who transcend the concept of life and death itself...Or could it be that they are what scientists today describe as the 'primordial ooze' - the origins wherein all life arose billions of years ago?
They are mushi.
Some wreak havoc in the lives of humans; while others bring them deliverance from suffering. Mushi are neither good, nor evil; for just like any other creature, they are merely striving to survive in this harsh, competitive world.

Ginko - a lone wanderer with an intriguingly reclusive personality, offers help and guidance to those plagued by mushi. This is the tale of his travels and exploits in a wondrous world populated by these mysterious entities.

Mushishi won an Excellence Prize at the 2003 Japan Media Arts Festival and the 2006 Kodansha Manga Award." - Baka-Updates

Daily Manga

Yet again, I am in a technology hating mood. That being the case, this manga really works for me atm. The art is "different" and the story is a bit odd & possibly harder to follow than most, but it's pretty good and has a valid message. Hope you enjoy it.

「Marieの奏でる音楽」
Marie no Kanderu Ongaku

Mangaka: 古屋兎丸 (Furuya Usamaru)
Genre: Drama, Fantasy, Mature, Romance, Sci-fi, Seinen
Summary: "A fantasy epic of truly magnificent scale with gorgeous illustrations. In just two volumes, the author manages to create an incredibly rich and fascinating world that is full of wonders and enchanting beauties. A world in which men are watched over by the mechanical goddess Marie who at times appears on the sky. Marie's music brings people happiness and harmony. Their life is free from advanced technology and the longing for progress. The main story centers around Kai, a young man who develops a deep affection for Marie. His quest for enlightenment leads him inside Marie's mechanical body where he learns the unbelievable truth about her and his own world."-Baka-Updates

Daily Manga

I really love those long, epic mangas so today I shall be posting yet another. Today's is actually based on one of the most famous books in the (western) world; Dante's Divine Comedy. It's more like an adaptation than anything. The art is fitting and the mangaka just so happens to be the ever famous Nagai Go. Enjoy.

Daily Manga

Sorry for not posting these past few days. You all know I'm a lazy ass though. But I have been following the dispute between China and Japan for the Senkaku Islands (although we all know it is legally Japan's and China is just being an ass). The rumors of what actually happened in the islands between the two countries is quite stirring. I'm actually excited for something to happen, lol. At any rate! today's manga is, yet again, a recent release. It's one I'm very attracted to though. The art is good but the genre is my favorite; Heian Japan! A sexy, "crazy" ex-prince, and a crazy good, slightly traumatized onmyouji who lost all his powers. Have fun with it!

Koretaka Shinnou, once the crown prince renowned for his brilliant mind and steadfast personality, is now in exile - supposedly as punishment for murder. Upon their first meeting, Yorimichi's powers are instantly re-awakened. Intrigued by what he believes to be Koretaka's amazing abilities, Yorimichi decides to swear allegiance to the prince." - Baka-Updates
